We’re on the colonia side of Puerto Morelos, that’s the residential half of the town that’s west of the highway. It’s where local families live, shop and eat. Grocery stores, cosy cafés, fruit stands (fruterías) and neighbourhood restaurants are all within a 500‑metre walk of the front door. The beach is five minutes away by taxi, so you can enjoy the ocean whenever you like.

Staying here for a week was just what I needed to disconnect. It’s tucked away in a really quiet spot with zero street noise, making the overall tranquillity hard to beat. The house was spotless when I walked in, and the kitchen had all the gear I needed to cook real meals.
We stayed for a month and loved how bright and airy the whole house feels. It’s a peaceful area where you can actually sleep in, especially since the beds are super comfortable. The courtyard pool was also great for a quick dip in the afternoons.
We spent two weeks here and it turned out to be a fantastic spot to catch our breath. The neighborhood offers incredible tranquillity away from the usual crowded areas. Everything was thoroughly clean upon arrival, and we practically lived by the private pool.
Came for a quick short stay and felt right at home. It’s tucked away from the main tourist drag, providing everything needed for a relaxing escape. The whole place was clean, cozy, and very welcoming.

Staying a month or more in Puerto Morelos?
Casa Halu is set up for longer stays: 112 Mbps Wi‑Fi for remote work, a washer‑dryer, a fully equipped kitchen you can really cook in, and a monthly rate that works out at US$54 a night. Winter guests from the US and Canada tend to stay December to March, so message us early to secure those dates.

For the whole house, in US dollars, with a four‑night minimum. Stay seven nights or more and every night is charged at the weekly rate; stay twenty‑eight or more and every night is charged at the monthly rate. A week and three days, for example, is one week plus three‑sevenths of a week.

Payment and deposit
How paying works, and what happens if plans change.
Direct bookings are settled by bank transfer in two steps, with a refundable deposit to look after the house while you’re in it.
Securing your dates
Transfer half the total and the dates are yours. The other half is due 14 days before you arrive. Booking inside 14 days? It’s all in one go.
The deposit
US$300 for stays under 28 nights, US$500 for monthly stays, paid at the same time as the balance, 14 days before check‑in. It covers anything in the fee schedule, damage beyond normal wear and any electricity charges: use above the 150 kWh‑a‑week allowance on stays of 7+ nights and, for stays longer than a month, all electricity from the 29th night onwards.
Refunding the deposit
We will refund your deposit within seven days of check‑out, once we’ve done the walk‑through (and read the meter on stays of 7+ nights). The full deposit is sent back the way it came. We cover the transfer fees. If we ever need to deduct anything, you get an itemised note with photos first.
Cancellations
Cancel 30 days or more before check‑in and we refund half of what you’ve paid so far. Inside 30 days the booking is non‑refundable. The security deposit is always returned in full, and we recommend travel insurance for the unexpected.
Before you book
Two small things we ask of every guest.
Booking direct means there’s no platform verifying who’s who, so we do it ourselves. It takes a few minutes, and it protects you as much as it protects us.
Sign a short rental agreement
We send it with your confirmation. It sets out your dates, the price, what’s included and the house rules, so everyone knows where they stand.
Send us a copy of ID for everyone staying
A passport or national ID for each guest, children included. We only use it for your booking.
House rules
A few things that keep Casa Halu lovely for everyone.
We want you to feel completely at home, and we want the neighbours to keep liking us. By booking you agree to the full house rules, which come with your rental agreement.
Check‑in and check‑out
- Check‑in from 3:00 PM, check‑out by 11:00 AM.
- Early check‑in or late check‑out only by arrangement, subject to availability. An unapproved late check‑out is charged.
- Minimum stay four nights.
Guests and visitors
- Only the guests on the booking may stay overnight.
- Day visitors need our approval before they arrive.
- No parties, events, or commercial filming or photography.
Quiet hours
- 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
- Keep music and patio noise considerate at all times. The neighbours are close.
The pool
- No glass anywhere near the pool. Plastic cups are in the kitchen.
- No lifeguard: you swim at your own risk, and children must be supervised at all times.
- Use the pool towels outside and at the beach; the white bath towels stay indoors.
Smoking and pets
- Non‑smoking everywhere on the property.
- No pets of any kind. Arriving with an animal means the booking is cancelled on the spot, without a refund.
Looking after the house
- Turn off air‑conditioning, fans and lights when you go out or use the pool. Electricity is included up to 150 kWh a week for the first 28 nights; use beyond that is charged at MX$4 per kWh. From the 29th night onwards, guests cover all electricity costs.
- Only toilet paper down the toilets.
- Lock doors, gates and windows when you go out. Some cupboards are locked for our supplies.
- Accidents happen. If anything breaks, tell us straight away and we’ll sort it.
